My Saskatchewan Roughriders season tickets are going to cost the same in 2018 as they cost in 2017.
The CFL team just announced it’s not increasing prices for season ticket holders returning for their second season inside new Mosaic Stadium. For my three tickets in the Gold section, that’s about $2,800, not counting food and beverages. I didn’t pay for a nearby parking stall.
There was a waiting list last year when the Riders began transferring 24,000 people from the old facility into the 33,000-seat new one.
For the second straight year, the Riders expect to be selling to new season ticket buyers.
Mosaic Stadium is a marvellous place. Good sight lines. Lots of washrooms. A wide concourse to wander. Beautiful to look at.
We can nitpick about the limited number of water fountains, trains passing the exits moments after a game ends, and the acoustics aren’t great for concerts. But the football team was worth watching and saved us some money by not earning a home playoff game this year. That might not be the case in 2018.
