Well the latest ballot for the CFL Awards landed in my inbox.
This time we vote for the CFL West Division Awards as well as the West Division Coach of the Year.
It’s hard to see why Jones doesn’t deserve the West Coach of the Year.
He will have at least a five-win improvement on last season. But when it comes to points scored and points allowed, the improvement in both categories is unmatched from his counterparts in the West.
Winnipeg could see one more win from last year, while Edmonton could see a two-win improvement.
Jason Maas was being talked about as the leading candidate with their 7-0 start, but their six-game losing streak is a blemish.
Dave Dickenson’s 13 or 14 wins is a great mark of consistency and excellence and likely Jones’ biggest challenger.
Jones’ Riders are 8-3 after a slow start to the season. They were minus 180 in point differential last year and plus 95 this year.
