The RCMP have concluded their investigation into a dog attack in Riceton, Sask. that killed a six-year-old boy and have determined no charges will be laid.
Cameron Mushanski was identified by family members in a GoFundMe campaign.
He was killed in September when two dogs, reported to be Alaskan Malamutes, attacked him. Both dogs were euthanized.
The dogs were known to the boy.
Milestone RCMP assisted the Coroner’s Office in the investigation. Milestone RCMP consulted with the RCMP Major Crime Unit, the Regina Humane Society and the Office of the Chief Coroner.
Based on the evidence and circumstances, RCMP determined there were no elements of any criminal, provincial or bylaw offences committed.
The boy’s family has been updated on the status of the investigation.
