Some could call it a Christmas gift from the City of Regina.
Weekly garbage collection will return starting on Saturday to help people deal with extra trash from the holidays.
Since Nov. 20, people in the city have had their garbage picked up bi-weekly. City council made the switch to save approximately $132,000.
Garbage pick-up will be back to a ‘weekly’ schedule for the holidays. Those who have their garbage regularly picked up on a Monday will get their garbage picked up on Saturday, Dec. 23.
Bi-weekly garbage pick-up will resume Jan. 8 and last until Mar. 30.
Don’t forget about the blue cart
The city would also like to remind people to recycle over the holidays.
For large cardboard boxes and excess paper, people can use the city’s big blue bins.
They’re located at:
-Broadway Shopping Centre
-Columbus Park
-Lakeshore Mall
-Northwest Leisure Centre
-Rosemont Shopping Centre
-Sandra Schmirler Centre
-Sportsplex, Field House
