A blast of arctic air has settled into the province with extreme cold temperatures expected for the remainder of 2017.
Environment Canada issued an extreme cold warning Sunday for much of the province, except for a few portions on the west.
Wind chill values could range from -40 C to -45 C, especially during the overnight and morning hours. Exposed skin can freeze in just five to 10 minutes with these temperatures.
Environment Canada encouraged people to dress warmly and in layers that can be removed.
It also encourages people to keep emergency supplies in vehicles, such as extra blankets and jumper cables.
