It was a safe ending to a scary situation for a mother and child in Moose Jaw on Tuesday.
Moose Jaw Police were called to a home on the 700 block of Athabasca Street East after reports of gunshots in the basement.
A woman and her young child were barricaded inside the house, away from an active shooter.
Police officers forced their way into the house and were confronted by a man with a loaded rifle. The man surrendered and was charged.
The woman and child were not hurt.
