People forced out of Regina apartment due to fire

People living in a Regina apartment building on the 1300 block of Halifax Street were forced into the cold Thursday morning after a fire broke out.
A man who lives in the building at the corner of Seventh Ave said it started just after 7 a.m. with flames appearing to be coming from the deck.
Fire crews had the blaze out within an hour.
A police officer, assisting with the call, entered the building to check for residents. Despite being occupied at the time of the fire, there were no injuries.
Both police and the fire department are investigating and the extent of the damage is unknown at this time.
