The water will be turned off for maintenance at the Pasqua Hospital on Saturday night.
Drains and sewers will be working in most areas of the hospital — except the security and emergency departments, intensive care unit, the laboratory and medicine inpatient units on the third and fourth floors.
According to the Saskatchewan Health Authority, staff and patients in those areas will have access to washrooms and hand-washing stations in other parts of the hospital. There will be signs directing people where to go.
Bottled water will also be available for all patients, staff and visitors as required. However, staff and visitors are encouraged to bring their own water bottles.
The health authority is also advising patients and visitors to expect noise while the lines are being flushed out and the water service is restored.
The water shutoff will not impact the hospital’s fire protection system as it runs off a separate fixed line.
