Regina police Chief Evan Bray came out with yet another warning for marijuana dispensaries in the city.
“Selling cannabis from a storefront is not legal, period,” Bray said.
Bray said although marijuana is legal if you have a prescription, stores still cannot physically sell you the product.
“Anyone with a prescription for medicinal marijuana has a process to fill their prescriptions walking into a store and purchasing it over the counter is not — currently — a legal option.”
He added they know of about 20 dispensaries in the Queen City, but points out that not all of them necessarily have storefront signage.
Bray said they have heard from teens that if you have cash, stores will give you the product.
Chief Bray said his team will continue to crack down on the dispensaries until they all comply with the law.
