Kacy Rodgers is on the move.
After spending the last two seasons with the Roughriders, the team has released him to pursue an opportunity in the NFL.
Rodgers was set to become a free agent on Feb. 13, 2018.
The 25-year-old defensive back worked out with several NFL teams during the offseason with the blessing of the club, so the release is not a huge surprise.
There is no word on which team Rodgers has signed with.
Rodgers played 25 regular-season games in the green and white and collected 74 defensive tackles, one quarterback sack and one interception which he returned 50 yards for a touchdown. He added 12 defensive tackles in two playoff games in 2017.
Earlier this week the Roughriders also released Jeff Knox Jr. to pursue an NFL opportunity of his own.
