The CFL made the groundbreaking move to release to the public 10 names from every team’s secret negotiation list.
It is what many fans and media have been asking for. A peek at some of the players teams are looking at trying to bring the CFL. Some of them are still in college, others have been jumping around the NFL and some are trying to find their first professional football job.
While, it’s no where near the list that is actually 45 players long, it’s a step in the right direction.
The more information, the better for the fans. That’s why it was also refreshing this off-season to start to see more and more teams disclose the length of contracts in free agency. And while there are too many one year deals, it allows fans to keep track rather than wait until after the season to get an official free agent list from the league.
Sites like capfriendly have given NHL fans the opportunity to play armchair general manager and these latest moves allow CFL fans do a little of the same.
It’s a good move, albeit not the best.
