The RCMP are releasing more information following a false complaint of a school shooting in Balcarres Tuesday.
Officers responded to the call around 1 p.m. and searched all the schools in the community before confirming there wasn’t a shooting.
On Wednesday, RCMP said the complaint was made by a child under 12 from the Balcarres area. No other details about the child are being released at this time.
Due to their age, no charges will be laid.
RCMP are reminding parents to talk with their kids about making reports like this.
The RCMP take every complaint seriously and all are investigated.
