A second teenage boy has been arrested and charged in connection to a string of shootings earlier this month.
Police said the 15-year-old — along with a 16-year-old, who was arrested last week — fired shots at two homes and several vehicles in the 1300 block of Athol Street on March 11.
Around 5 p.m. on Thursday, police spotted the 15-year-old in the 3100 block of Dewdney Avenue. The boy ran from officers, but the canine unit tracked him down to a house in the 1500 block of Garnet Street. It was there he was taken into custody and police discovered he is also facing several outstanding warrants — including charges involving guns.
The 15-year-old now faces 11 charges of mischief under $5,000, along with possessing a gun, contrary to a prohibition order, and discharging a prohibited gun in a reckless manner.
The teen will make his first appearance in youth court Friday afternoon.
