Johnny Manziel. Johnny Manziel. Johnny Manziel. Have you heard his name enough lately?
Manziel is a Heisman-winning quarterback whose college prowess didn’t transition into the NFL, primarily because he drank and partied his way out of pro football.
His nickname is “Johnny Football.” Now he claims he has cleaned up his act and wants to make a comeback, preferably in the NFL, but he admitted after his pro workouts that he would also be willing to play in the CFL.
TSN’s Dave Naylor and scouts from two CFL teams, the Montreal Alouettes and Saskatchewan Roughriders, attended Manziel’s workout.
The guy has done a remarkable job of keeping himself in the spotlight, even though he realizes he hasn’t accomplished anything yet. Somebody is going to sign him, give him an opportunity and the football world will continue monitoring his progress.
Until he completely falls on his face — which might not happen — get used to hearing his name.
