A 59-year-old man from Lafleche is facing charges for a string of robberies at small town banks.
Robert Holden was arrested Wednesday at a house in Lafleche and appeared Thursday in Regina Provincial Court accused of robbing six banks between 2016 and 2017.
Between May 2016 and June 2017 there were six successful bank robberies and two more attempted robberies reported in Pangman, Hodgeville, Holdfast, Glentworth and Central Butte.
RCMP asked the public for help with the case after getting similar descriptions of the suspect in the robberies.
The RCMP general investigation section in Regina took over the file in 2017, in co-operation with several detachments and specialized units.
“Our unit also received several tips that we were able to follow up on. We appreciate every ounce of information we receive from the public pertaining to our investigations,” Sgt. Kelly West wrote in a news release.
