The City of Regina and the Saskatchewan Roughriders are looking at making it easier to get to and from Mosaic Stadium during home games this season.
The Transit Service Agreement looks to increase the number of service hours per game from 155 to 350 but didn’t elaborate if that meant more buses would shuttle people to games.
A report is set to go before city council for approval on April 30.
The expansion is due to a higher number of fans taking the bus during football games last season.
In 2017, around 6,600 people took advantage of the free transit program and 2018 could see upwards of 8,000 fans looking to use the service.
The increase in hours will cost the football club up to $372,600 for the 10 home games during the upcoming season.
Game day shuttles pick fans up at six locations: Normanview Crossing, Northgate Mall, Southland Mall, Victoria Square Mall, Saskatchewan Drive and Hamilton Street by the Delta Hotel and on the westbound side of the street at Victoria Avenue and Scarth Street.
