Autopsies have begun for two people who died last Friday under suspicious circumstances in Midale, but RCMP are not releasing any more details for now.
RCMP officers from Weyburn and Estevan were called to the Midway Restaurant and Bar in Midale early Friday morning. Two people were found dead at the scene, police will only describe their deaths as suspicious and say they are not seeking any new suspects.
Forensic investigators held the scene until late Saturday afternoon, but RCMP say there are still several steps to confirm the circumstances of the deaths.
Autopsies were scheduled for Monday and Tuesday in Regina which police say will “confirm information that is crucial to the investigation.”
The Regina Major Crimes Unit will also be conducting interviews over the next several days to collect more information vital to the case.
Police have not identified the victims and say the families are requesting privacy at this time.
“Once the investigation is complete, the Major Crimes Unit will meet with each of the respected families of the decreased to present the results of the investigation,” the RCMP wrote in a news release
