As Roughriders coaches, quarterbacks and newcomers gather in Florida for mini-camp the Riders made a flurry of roster changes Tuesday morning.
Most notably, the Riders released four players including veteran offensive lineman Peter Dyakowski, safety Jeff Hecht, defensive back Taylor Mays and offensive lineman Eddie Meredith.
Peter Dyakowski played 18 games with the green and white after being traded to Saskatchewan from Toronto in late May. He played nine seasons in Hamilton before that.
Thanks to the amazing province of Saskatchewan for a great year! I had fun with the #Riders & as a fan, loved seeing the @CFL from the west.

Hecht came to the Riders in August of 2016, playing eight games that season and 18 in 2017.
The unfortunate part of the business. Thanks to the #RiderPride fans out there for making my time in the Queen City enjoyable for me and my family.
Next stop…TBD.— Jeff Hecht (@JeffHecht24) April 24, 2018
Mays played one game and Meredith did not suit up after being drafted.
The club also added 22 players ahead of mini-camp, many of whom will be trying to learn the Canadian game for the first time.
