A Winston Knoll Collegiate student was arrested after taking a cap gun to school.
Police received a report around 2:50 p.m. that a student at the school was believed to be in possession of a weapon.
The student wasn’t threatening anyone with the weapon, so a weapons protocol was enacted to ensure the situation didn’t escalate into anything violent.
The student was arrested without incident and an investigation revealed the weapon was a cap gun.
Regina Public Schools said classes were not disrupted.
Charges are pending depending on the investigation’s findings.
