'Considering the circumstances ... this is best-case scenario,' Cole Cusitar said.
At least two fire crews were helping to deal with a large grass fire near the edge of Regina Beach on Saturday afternoon.
The Lumsden Fire Department sent two crews to help the Reinga Beach Fire Department get the blaze under control.
Lumsden fire crews have since departed the scene and a spokesperson said with the fire now under the control, the blaze is now in the hands of the Regina Beach fire crew.
Carol Daniels was in the area and said due to the wind, the fire spread more than one kilometre in about 15 minutes.
She said the smoke made the highway seem impassable.
Not much else is known at this time.
