32-year-old man charged with killing uncle in Regina Beach

The nephew of a man found dead in Regina Beach has been charged with his murder.

Clint Daniel Salminen, 32, is facing a second-degree murder charge in the death of his uncle Robert Gardiner.

RCMP officers were first called to a house on Fairchid Avenue Sunday evening for a report of an assault. When they arrived they found 58-year-old Gardiner dead.

RCMP Major Crimes Unit and the Forensic Identification Unit spent Monday collecting evidence at the scene but completed the investigation by Tuesday.

Salminen was arrested on Monday and appeared in Regina Provincial Court on Tuesday morning.
