Broadview RCMP are looking for a suspect after a 12-year-old girl reportedly escaped an attempted abduction on the Kahkewistahaw First Nation north of Highway 1 Tuesday afternoon.
Police said the girl was at the Kahkewistahaw School after 4 p.m. when a man driving a black truck offered her a ride. She got into the truck and he drove her to the boundary of the community then stopped the truck.
The man and girl both got out and she managed to escape and make her way back to a local business, according to an RCMP media release issued Wednesday.
The suspect is described as Caucasian, tall with a thick build, brown hair, green eyes and a deep voice.
The make or model of the truck was not clearly identified, but it was described as clean with tinted windows and a beige leather interior.
Broadview RCMP were assisted by the Yorkton General Investigation Unit, Forensic Identification Unit, forensic sketch artist, and victim services.
Anyone who may have seen a black truck driving in the area around Kahkewistahaw First Nation Tuesday afternoon is asked to call RCMP at 306-696-5200 or contact Crime Stoppers.
