Warman RCMP had to deploy a spike belt in order to catch a drunk driver on Saturday.
At around 12:30 a.m., RCMP pulled over a speeding vehicle on Highway 11 near Rosthern.
When officers approached the vehicle the driver was showing signs of impairment before fleeing —heading south down the highway.
RCMP successfully deploy a spike belt near the intersection of Highway 11 and Highway 12, just before Saskatoon to stop the vehicle.
The driver ran but was taken into custody a short time later.
Police have charged the 42-year-old man with dangerous driving, operation of a motor vehicle while being impaired, impaired over 80mg and flight from police.
He’s scheduled to makes his first court appearance in Saskatoon on Monday.
