Duron Carter has received an absolute discharge after pleading guilty to a marijuana possession charge.
The Saskatchewan Roughrider was arrested and charged at Winnipeg International Airport on Nov. 25 2017.
Carter entered the plea Monday. An absolute discharge is the lowest-level adult sentence an offender can get.
Carter is facing the same charge in Saskatchewan after being arrested at Saskatoon’s airport in February. That matter is still before the courts with the next appearance date set for June 27.
Carter is set to play defence in the Riders’ Thursday night game against Ottawa.
