There are a few changes in store for people in Regina this Canada Day long weekend.
With July 1 falling on Sunday and a stat holiday Monday, hours for civic services and facilities may vary from the norm both days.
The following is a list of what you need to know this July long weekend:
Civic offices will be closed.
The landfill is open Sunday and Monday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Entry gates close at 6:45 p.m.
Garbage collection and recycling will run as usual.
Regina Transit will run on a Sunday schedule for Canada Day, while Paratransit will operate on its holiday schedule from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Both transit services return to regular weekday service on July 2.
Information Centre and RideLine will be closed July 1, and open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday.
Riverside Memorial Park and Regina Cemeteries:
Office closed. Gates open 8 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Neil Balkwill Civic Arts Centre/ Art Gallery of Regina:
June 30 – July 2 – Closed holiday weekend.
North West Leisure Centre:
Open 12 p.m. – 6 p.m.
Sandra Schmirler
Leisure Centre: Open 12 p.m. – 6 p.m.
Regina Sportplex Lawson Aquatic Centre:
July 1 – Open 9 a.m. – 7 p.m.
July 2 – Open 5:30 a.m. – 9:30 p.m.
Fieldhouse:
Closed for annual maintenance.
Parking Meters: Meters not in effect.
City outdoor pools open Canada Day
Enjoy a Canada Day swim with the family at any of Regina’s five outdoor pools Sunday:
Massey Pool
12 – 8 p.m.
Admission is free 7-8 p.m.
Dewdney Pool
12 – 8 p.m.
Admission is free
Maple Leaf Pool
12 – 8 p.m.
Admission is free
Regent Pool
12 – 8 p.m.
Admission is free 7-8 p.m.
Wascana Pool
8 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Admission is free 7-8 p.m.
The city says with Canada Day events and road restrictions at the park on July 1, vehicle access and parking around Wascana Pool will be limited.
