Paint splatters, uneven spacing between dotted lines and a narrower right lane than left are just a few of the issues with Regina’s fresh paint job on Pasqua Street.
Done on July 6 and 7, the improper markings are in the northbound lane and stretch between the intersections of Sherwood Drive and Pasqua Gate.
“Apparently staff have indicated there was a problem with the equipment,” said Norman Kyle, director of roadways and transportation for the city. “We’re currently evaluating the equipment to see what the problems are.”
He said they plan on fixing the marks by blacking them out and eventually having them permanently removed with a process similar to sandblasting.
Kyle said they’ve gotten a few complaints on Facebook, but that’s not the only place people are talking about it.
On Reddit, a social media website, users refer to the new paint job as an explosion, specifically right in the intersection of Pasqua Street and 9th Avenue North.
One post joked about the state of the lines, with the comment “go home paint truck driver, you’re drunk!”
Kyle said the flawed paint job isn’t a normal occurrence for the city.
