Power rankings have become a popular debate in the Canadian Football League as pundits and fans rank teams week to week one through nine.
This year so far there are two easy selections. Calgary at number one. Montreal at number nine.
Those are easy. The Stamps have been the class of the league and it’s not even close, while Montreal sitting in ninth is an indication of how others (not the Riders) love to play them.
From 2-8, good luck making a decision that will find a consensus among biased fan bases who likely have their team ranked higher than deserving.
But honestly, there is no point trying to split hairs on who sits second, third, fourth etc. They’re all pretty well the same team. Their play is inconsistent and they have looked like world beaters one day and bottom feeders the next.
The power rankings will soon start to become clearer with more divisional battles and you’ll start to see the risers and losers find their spot in the chase for the playoffs.
Although the rankings will likely remain Calgary first and Montreal ninth all the way to November.
