RCMP say one child may have life-threatening injuries after two horses pulling a cart on a grid road were spooked.
According to RCMP, about 20 young people were on the horse-drawn cart on a grid road off Highway 247 in the Round Lake area, just southwest of Esterhazy, at 8:30 p.m. Thursday when something spooked the animals.
The horses broke into a gallop that caused the wagon to cross a ditch and stop in some trees.
While the wagon did not overturn, the sudden stop injured several people.
A media release from mounties said STARS air ambulance took one person to hospital with what may be serious injuries.
An update from the Saskatchewan Health Authority Friday afternoon said 15 people were treated in hospital, nine of them have since been released.
