Who cares?
It’s one of the most popular opinions whenever the name Johnny Manziel is in the headlines.
And again on Tuesday when Mike Sherman finally conceded he will start Manziel on Friday, more ‘who cares’ takes were coming in.
Yes, I understand the name Manziel has been uttered far more times than any other player in the CFL this season.
Friday, we’ll find out one thing for sure and it’s not whether Manziel is going to be a star in the CFL and begin his march back to the NFL. Manziel will need more than one game to prove that.
But we’ll find out if all the hype, all the talk and all the time paid actually equates to ratings and interest. I’m as curious about Friday’s ratings on TSN and ESPN2 as I am in the result of the game.
Also, what about attendance in Montreal? They’re averaging just over 17,000 a game and that is eighth in the league only leading the abysmal attendance we’re seeing in Toronto.
If more fans show up and more eyes are on the TV, it doesn’t matter if you don’t care as long as others do.
