Sports fans will get a chance to meet some local celebrities and professional athletes at a new upcoming event hosted by the McMorris brothers in Regina next week.
The first annual McMorris Foundation Celebrity Slow Pitch Tournament is August 10 at the Douglas Park ball diamonds.
The event includes meet-and-greets with celebrities including Regina-born stars like NHLer Jordan Eberle along with Olympic snowboarder Mark McMorris and his brother Craig McMorris. Olympians like hockey player Natalie Spooner and bobsledder Kaillie Humphries will also be there along with ESPN personalities involved in the X Games.
The tournament runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and features live music, beer gardens, silent auction, a kids fun zone and more.
All proceeds go to Jumpstart, a charity which helps cover the cost of sports for kids in need.
“We’ve always given back to sport because it has given us so much,” Craig McMorris said on the Greg Morgan Morning Show on 980 CJME.
Craig McMorris said he and his brother have learned many life lessons through sport and hope to provide that opportunity to kids.
