The search for a missing 63-year-old hiker from Ontario has come to a sad end after he was found dead over the weekend.
Donald Stoliker of Newburg, Ontario was reported missing after he did not return from a hike in Grasslands National Park on Wednesday.
Pontiex RCMP reported Stoliker had told people he wanted to hike the Ecotour Road and was last seen around the south access route in the west block of Grasslands National Park.
The search for Stoliker began on Thursday as RCMP reported he had health issues and there was concern for his well-being. The search involved members of the RCMP canine unit, the Civil Air Search and Rescue Association and local volunteers with vehicles, aircraft and horses.
RCMP report Stoliker’s body was found south of Grasslands National Park over the weekend.
His death is not considered suspicious at this time but police will continue the investigation with help from the provincial coroner.
