Regina police are investigating two unrelated crashes involving police cruisers Monday.
The first incident happened around 8:20 a.m. when police attempted to stop a suspicious vehicle around Sherwood Drive and Lewvan Drive but it sped away.
The suspect vehicle continued southbound on Lewvan Drive and collided with a second vehicle, which was making a left turn from eastbound Fourth Avenue onto northbound Lewvan Drive.
The driver of the suspect vehicle, a 28 year-old man, fled the scene on foot and was arrested nearby a short time later. He was then transported to hospital and treated for minor injuries.
A passenger of the second vehicle also suffered minor injuries, and was taken to hospital as well.
Both the suspect and the passenger of the second vehicle have been released from hospital.
The suspect is now in custody and charges are pending.
The second incident happened around 1:30 p.m. when police were responding to a call about a suspicious vehicle in the 1300 block of Cameron Street.
While on the way, a police cruiser entered the intersection of Eighth Avenue and Elphinstone Street, and collided with another vehicle.
A 48-year-old woman passenger was transported to hospital with what are believed to be minor injuries.
A police officer also sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
Both investigations are ongoing.
