Big crowds are expected to converge on Wascana Country Club to watch the world’s best golfers battle it out to determine this year’s CP Women’s Open Champion.
As thousands of attendees are expected to head to the course during the week, there are a few things to keep in mind.
No on-site parking
There will be no parking available at the CP Women’s Open for spectators. Public parking is being made available at the University of Regina for $10 per day. A complimentary shuttle will be provided to take people from the university to the golf course. Shuttles will run continuously from 6:30 a.m. until one hour after completion of play each day of the championship.
Dress comfortably
There is no set dress code at the event this year. People are asked to dress comfortably and to remember to bring things to help deal with the weather, including sunscreen.
Mobile devices must be silent, no flash photography
Mobile devices, including cellphones, must be on silent at all times and flash may not be used for photos. Devices can be used to capture photos, audio and video for personal purposes only and cannot be used commercially. Phone calls are allowed only in designated areas.
There is no live streaming or shot-by-shot coverage of the tournament allowed.
No cameras other than smartphones will be allowed on site during the championship rounds from Thursday to Sunday.
Tickets and entry
Tickets are still available online. Prices are $55 for a one day pass, $105 for a full week course entry and $200 for a clubhouse entry badge.
Juniors 17 years of age and younger can get into the event for free.
Inclement weather
Saskatchewan is the land of living skies and that could lead to weather becoming dangerous quickly. An on-site meteorologist will be at the tournament throughout the duration of the tournament. If a storm is approaching weather warning signs will be posted on the scoreboards and in the bleachers around the course. Bleachers must be cleared at that time.
The sound of a siren or claxon indicates that play is suspended and the course will be cleared.
