The search for missing seven-year-old Greagan Geldenhuys continues after his mother was found dead on a beach in Fort Qu’Appelle last Saturday.
The search is centered around Echo and Mission Lakes.
Sgt. Drew Wagner, with the Fort Qu’Appelle RCMP Detachment, said they’re asking property owners and residents in those areas to inspect their properties.
“(Check your) docks, boat launches, boat lifts and boat tracks,” he said.
Right now the search is mainly focused on the water, but for now, the underwater recovery team is on hold but will resume their search on Tuesday.
“They will bringing sonar technology to assist in their efforts,” Wagner said.
The reason the dive team is on hold because they need a certain amount of divers before they can enter the water, and those resources are depleted at the moment.
The Calling Lake Fishing Derby is on this weekend, so Wagner noted they’ve been in contact with organizers to have their anglers keep an eye out for anything that could help locate Greagan.
“We will be advising of a protocol for the anglers should the come across, really anything, and to call police,” he said.
Resources are ready to go if they are needed, according to Wagner.
The ground search continues with civilians and volunteers, so both water and ground are being covered this weekend.
