I feel the Winnipeg Blue Bombers are at a pivotal point in their season in the upcoming Banjo Bowl.
Both quarterback Matt Nichols and head coach Mike O’Shea are feeling the heat. They’ve lost three straight games for the first time since 2015 and staring at fourth with the Roughriders dominant defence coming in this week.
A fourth straight loss and maybe it’s time the Bombers have to make someone accountable.
The Riders did it when they started their important stretch of six games against Western opponents with two straight losses. Receiver Duron Carter was sent out the door and the message was clear. Put up and shut up. You don’t win games with your mouth and you especially don’t win games going through the motions.
The Riders haven’t lost since and appear to be a lot more aggressive and motivated team than the one that started the season 3-4 and was terribly inconsistent.
Do the Bombers have a Carter? Is it the head coach? The quarterback? The defensive coordinator Richie Hall?
Jobs may be on the line for the Bombers and the Riders could be the team that forces the pink slip.
