Johnny Manziel isn’t happy being the backup quarterback of the Montreal Alouettes and many are talking.
Is this the first sign of the diva attitude that has some not wanting him here in the first place? Is he a bad teammate? Should he be the starter?
Manziel was concussed in a game against Ottawa he nearly won, a week after throwing four interceptions in his first CFL start.
He missed time and Antonio Pipkin took over and has since won two straight games.
Manziel is sitting and waiting again for his opportunity for his third start, believing that if the team truly had faith in him he would be starting. And to that point he’s right.
Where Manziel misses, is the fact he’s only started two games. Yes, you can lose your job to injury, especially when all the Alouettes care about right now is victories.
Manziel says he gets it and has the back of his fellow quarterback.
But in Manziel’s defence, he’s allowed to be frustrated. We’d all be after being a first-round NFL bust, whose ‘Comeback SZN’ has been derailed by surprising play from a guy out of Tiffin University.
