It sounds like Duron Carter, though he wouldn’t admit it directly, has changed. Or at least has been humbled by his release in Saskatchewan and his arrival in Toronto.
Carter told the Green Zone that the team run by Marc Trestman is completely different than the one run by Chris Jones.
Carter did acknowledge there are different ways to lead teams to championships.
But maybe Trestman is the best coach for Duron. A player who can get ahead of himself at times and be about himself. Trestman made it clear when they acquired Carter that he would have to integrate himself into the locker room and meetings and practice before he’d trust him on game day. He clearly has done that as Trestman increases Carter’s role with the team.
At the end of the interview, Carter said it’s all about the win, whether he’s catching passing, blocking punts, or blocking on run plays. He added what would truly satisfy him is a victory.
Right now, Carter is saying all the right things, as he did when he got to Saskatchewan.
