Charges are being laid following Sunday’s Amber Alert in North Battleford.
Johnathan Ryann Gunville, 19, was arrested Friday after authorities went through hundreds of hours of surveillance footage from over 200 businesses.
He faces several charges including abduction, unlawful confinement, abandoning a child, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, theft of a motor vehicle, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, evading police, driving while disqualified and failing to comply with a probation order.
The charges stem from the Amber Alert on Sept. 16 and two other vehicle thefts on Sept. 19 and Sept. 20.
A six-year-old girl was in her mother’s SUV when it was stolen from a strip mall on Sunday. She was found safe nearly 14 hours later, still in the vehicle, behind a truck yard a kilometre away from where she was taken.
Gunville will remain in custody until his first court appearance in North Battleford Provincial Court on Monday.
