'Considering the circumstances ... this is best-case scenario,' Cole Cusitar said.
A woman is dead and a man has life-threatening injuries after a two-vehicle crash near Maple Creek Sunday night.
RCMP said it happened around 8 p.m., about two kilometres north of Maple Creek on Highway 21 — just off Highway 1.
A 50-year-old woman driving one of the vehicles was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 55-year-old man driving the other vehicle was airlifted to a Regina hospital.
There were no passengers in either vehicle.
Mounties had Highway 21 blocked for several hours Sunday night as crews cleaned up and investigated the crash. The road has since been reopened.
RCMP haven’t released the cause of the collision.
