Last week at this time, I told you the Riders game in Calgary would tell you more about this team than the shutout loss in Winnipeg.
And, what you were told is clear. The loss in Winnipeg was an aberration, the anomaly.
The Riders are clearly still a contender. There were some broken ankles last week from people jumping off the bandwagon. Some even called and texted saying the Riders won’t win another game this season.
The confidence in the team dropped substantially. But teams will have one complete stinker where nothing goes right and that’s what happened in Winnipeg.
The Riders walked into Calgary with their pride on the line. And the punch back was a four round unanimous decision. From the get-go, the Riders were the better team.
What the team showed in Calgary now has Rider Nation excited about the regular season finale and what’s ahead in November.
But it’ll be interesting to see how many catch up to the bandwagon on crutches.
