One woman is dead and two others were injured in a rollover Sunday morning on the Ochapawace First Nation northeast of Broadview.
RCMP officers were called to the First Nation at 11 a.m. They arrived to find one woman had been thrown from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
A second woman suffered serious injuries but is expected to survive and a third reportedly had minor injuries.
Police said their initial investigation suggested the van was headed eastbound on a grid road near the community’s multiplex. It then hit the gravel shoulder, overcorrected and rolled three times into the south ditch.
A forensic reconstructionist also attended the scene and the investigation into the exact circumstances of the crash is still underway.
