Tradition. It’s the main reason people don’t like change. Because it’s tradition don’t ya know that we sit outside in cold frigid temperatures in Canada for the most important games of the season to get impacted by the weather.
Tradition. It’s the reason why we don’t move the CFL to one division because the East versus West match-ups are what the people want in the CFL and if you don’t have that, well, the league would die without it.
Really?
Why then would we see decreasing attendance in major markets when we have these traditional east / west splits? Why? Because nobody cares about tradition when they’re watching two bad teams battle for playoff spots or when they’re freezing their butts off watching a game in the stands when they could be at home on their couch.
Sorry to the traditionalists, but change is good. And it’s not change for the sake of change, it’s change for the sake of survival. You need to make more games meaningful and not have them played in temperatures that only a polar bear or penguin would find comfortable.
