You do feel bad for the Ottawa Senators who find themselves involved in more drama.
This time it was thanks to an entrepreneurial UBER driver, who thought a conversation with a car full of NHL players slagging their penalty kill and their coach would make for good YouTube fodder.
Well, he was right.
People watched and the seven players involved, including some notable names like Matt Duchene and Chris Wideman had to apologize. The coaching staff says everything is fine, and yes, behind closed doors, players complain about coaches as coaches complain about players.
Everybody at every workplace on earth has talked ill of someone behind their back.
But this went public and you can’t walk that back. As much as this is a breach of privacy, it is now public and something has to be done.
Status quo won’t work.
It appears the players have no faith in their coaches, especially when a supposed leader like Matt Duchene is taking swipes.
It’s not like the coaching staff was on solid ground to begin with. It’s just a rotten way to have it go down.
