You can now buy booze and groceries under one roof in Regina.
A liquor store has opened in the Real Canadian Superstore on the east side of the Queen City.
It opened following a recent modernization of liquor sales, allowing for owners of liquor permits to sell or trade them.
When the sell-off began on Oct. 8, both Superstore and Costco were said to be seeking to purchase permits for sale.
The store that is now open in Superstore still operates independently, with shoppers using a specific check-out.
But once their booze is purchased, they can then shop elsewhere in the store.
There are currently 37 private liquor permits available in Regina and it isn’t thought anymore will be sought.
