It was a busy weekend for the Regina Cougars.
Basketball and volleyball took over the centre of Kinesiology, Health and Sport building. Both Manitoba basketball teams were in the city for basketball. The women’s team swept the Bisons while the men’s team split the weekend series with the Bisons.

In hockey, the men’s team was swept by the Calgary Dinos but the women’s team won both games, including a 2-1 double-overtime finish Friday.

Campbell Tartans win provincial volleyball gold
In high school sports, the 5A provincial volleyball championships took place over the weekend – the girls played in Saskatoon and the boys were in Prince Albert.
The Campbell Tartans girls 5A volleyball team proved to be the best Saskatchewan had to offer this weekend. The team won the gold medal at provincials in Saskatoon. The Winston Knoll Wolverines did not make the playoff round.

On the boys’ side, Leboldus finished fourth and Riffel did not make the playoff round. Greenall took the gold medal in the tournament.
