Regina police have charged a 22-year-old man with attempted murder after a 48-year-old woman was found with a gunshot wound in a north Regina home on Sunday.
Police are not identifying the man because it may identify the victim, but said the alleged shooting event was a domestic one, and it doesn’t “pose an elevated risk to the other residents in the area.”
The incident happened on Sunday in the city’s Lakeridge area.
Police were called to a home on the 5200 block of Boswell Cres. just after 12:15 p.m. for a report of an injured woman. When they arrived, officers found the 48-year-old woman with injuries “consistent with a firearm discharge,” police said in a release.
EMS members took her to hospital with injuries police described as “non-life threatening.”
The man will make his first appearance in provincial court Wednesday on these charges.
