RCMP have charged a Swift Current man with downloading, storing and sharing child porn.
In a press release, Swift Current RCMP said Tony Resendes, 53, allegedly downloaded and shared the porn using a peer-to-peer sharing network.
Police first began tracking Resendes on Aug. 13. After monitoring his online activities for about a month, the provincial internet and child exploitation (ICE) unit searched his home.
ICE unit members found “several computers, electronic storage devices and a cell phone,” a police press release said. “An analysis of these devices found evidence to support the charges.”
Resendes made his first court appearance Wednesday to face the charges. He is due back in Swift Current provincial court on Dec. 12.
