Agribition tried out a game at the Brandt Centre Saturday afternoon, where contestants herded sheep into wooden pens — except, they were wearing giant plastic bubbles while trying to bowl each other over. It’s called “The Fleece and the Furious.”
“We always look for something fun to do on Saturdays. We get a lot of people in here and it’s good to keep people on their toes and keep it fun,” said Randi Seitz, Agribition’s livestock event coordinator.
Seitz added they came up with the idea while sitting in the lunchroom.

Willing participants entered into a draw to play. They competed in teams of three, and the game turned out to be a lot more difficult than they expected.
“Those sheep are really stubborn. They just wouldn’t leave each other,” said Halle Stewart, one of the participants.
“It’s hard to focus on herding sheep. It was a ton of fun,” added her teammate Lacey Atema.
The show wraps up Saturday night with Party on the Dirt, a cabaret inside the Brandt Centre, immediately following the rodeo.
