The family of missing Max Chukwudum held another search for the missing 19 year old on Sunday afternoon, this time in the west end of the city near the Italian Club.
It has now been a month since the University of Regina student disappeared. He was last seen at a house party on Marshall Crescent.
“There are times when you lose hope. My father keeps saying our faith is in God and we’re hoping this whole case is going to come to an end very soon,” said his sister Chinaza.
“I’m staying faithful. I’m staying hopeful because I know that he’ll be found. He’ll be found. Definitely.”
A volunteer search was conducted at Wascana Park earlier this month. Last week, the family held a candlelit vigil at city hall to keep her brother’s name out in the public.
Regina police are now using a plane to check fields, farms and rural areas outside the city.
Chukwudum, who also plays rugby, is from Nigeria and his disappearance has prompted his father David to fly to Canada for the search.
On Sunday, about 20 people came out to help, including Adrian McSween.
McSween, who does not have a personal connection to the family, felt compelled as a father to get involved.
“I would be devastated if my son went missing so I would hope as many people as possible would show up,” he said.
