RCMP from the Fort Qu’Appelle detachment reported they’ve found human remains they believe belong to Gary Pelletier, who was first reported missing on Oct. 18.
Mounties responded to a call Sunday morning about human remains found within the town’s limits; they found the remains close to the south east area of Echo lake in a boggy, slough-type area.
The service’s F division search and rescue team combed the area and “recovered several items of interest,” according to an emailed news release.
They’re working with the provincial coroner and a forensic pathologist to identify the remains.
Pelletier’s family members have been notified.
